The Book of Mormon is True!!

Cowgirls!

Bonfire

Deer Leg :-0

Hey Everyone!!

I hope that y'all had a wonderful week! Ours was so good! It amazes me how truly blessed I am to be serving, at this time, in the State of Idaho! The members here are like no other! I'll tell you why in a little bit! ;D

So something excited happened today... I got called an actual cowgirl today!! Sometimes we help out on the Stake President's cow ranch and today we were helping them burn some extra wood and things they have and at the beginning of the endeavor he said that we were almost cowgirls but then by the end of it... he said that we were cowgirls!! My dream has come true! Haha alright now to the good stuff!

On Thursday, I had kind of an "ah ha" moment. Throughout the day I just realized (again) that the labors I am doing here are not in vain. When I was talking with the sisters I live with, we realized that Satan likes to get to us and tell us that what we are doing is not worth it but it COMPLETELY is!!! We had one of our investigators tell us this week that she just feels at home when she comes to church! Then we had dinner with another one of our investigators and they are just so amazing! I love being able to become friends with those I am able to meet and teach! I have no idea how I am so blessed but I am so grateful for all of the big and small miracles I have witnessed so far on my mission!

One of our recent converts has lost his support in the church so it has been hard for him to come to church. Our Ward Mission Leader was so smart and suggested that we take one of the Young Men with us so he can have a role-model in his life. We asked one of the Young Men to come and he came teaching with us the next day! It went so well! I am so grateful for the help and suggestions that we get throughout the week!

It was pretty cool because when Sister Allen got here she mentioned that she wants to do more service. After she said that, we have had a lot of service opportunities, "ask and ye shall receive" right?? We were even able to help this one family move in to their new house and we hope that they will become new investigators soon!

Sunday was just amazing! So in a couple of Sundays we are doing a "Face-to-Face" with the youth in the Salmon Stake. We went to the wards we were assigned over and collected the questions the youth have about missionaries, mission life, mission prep., ECT. We are so excited for it! The youth are asking some pretty amazing questions, I'll let y'all know how it goes!

After church, one of our Elders Quorum President put on this activity called "Whitestorm" and this is why the members of Salmon are so amazing! Whitestorm is an activity to help the members get more involved in missionary work, help contact less-active members, and get the missionaries referrals! We got like 17 referrals in an hour and half from this activity! We are so blessed! We were also able to learn from our Ward Mission Leader and see how we can be better missionaries! He is such a good missionary! (By the way, the reason it is called Whitestorm because it was originally in place for the men to go out in their white shirts and "storm" the city by contacting all the people that they can!)

I am so grateful I am a missionary! I am grateful for all that I am learning everyday! I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon. So as a mission family, we have been reading a chapter of the Book of Mormon everyday and we will be finishing it on Saturday! I am so excited to have the opportunity to reconfirm my testimony of the Book of Mormon this Saturday. If you are not reading the Book of Mormon everyday right now, I would like to invite you to start today and commit to yourself that you will read it everyday. I can promise you that by doing so, your testimony of the Book of Mormon will grow and that you will better recognize the blessings God has given each of you! I will like to close with the PROMISED blessings our Prophet of God has given to us.

My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions."-President Russel M. Nelson

I know these things to be true as well! I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Love,
Sister Lacey

God is Good!!

Sister Gaston!!

"Spiritual" Glasses from a RS Lesson

Hello Y'all!!

I hope you had a great week!! Ours was so good!

Ok so I have to start off with this because it was the best weekend! I was able to see my best friend ever!! Sister Gaston, or I guess I should say Adalyn came and surprised me at a members house on Saturday and it was the best! It was so good to see her! I love her! Being able to catch up with her and laugh with her was a tender mercy from the Lord! I feel like I cannot repay her for all that she has taught me as a missionary! God is so good!

This week we were able to do our first Facebook lesson this and it was so cool! One of our investigators, it is hard to meet with her a lot becasue sheis busy but she can do Facebook lessons so that is what we did! We started with a prayer and we were able to send pictures and a video! Then she ended with a prayer as well! I am so grateful for technology!

It was crazy because during zone conference one of our investigators texted us and her husband just had a stroke! Luckily he us doing good and with prayers and good hospital staff, he should have a quick recovery. His wife and granddaughter even came to church on Sunday which is amazing!

On Sunday it was just full of miracles though from church! Not only did the wife and granddaughter come to church but another one of our investigators did for the first time! Also, one of our investigators who has been having a hard time coming to church came! It was an exciting Sabbath!

Another amazing miracle we were able to witness was from a former investigator! So we took a member out with us to go teaching and when we were dropping her off she asked us if she wanted to see one of our formers! We of course said yes and her circumstances have changed now so we hope and pray that now is her time to come unto Christ!

So I cannot remember if I told y'all but each transfer now I am studying a different Christlike attribute. This transfer, I am focusing diligence! In my studies this week on diligence I came across a scripture that I love! It is Doctrine and Covents 10:4. 4 Do not run faster or labor more than you have strength and means provided to enable you to translate; but be diligent unto the end.

God wants us to try our hardest but He doesn't want us to push ourselves to the point of hurting ourselves.

I am so grateful for the Atonement and the ability I have to learn here on earth! Thank you for the support you give me! Remember to be diligent in helping the Lord progress His work!

"Not today Satan!"

Hello Y'all!!

Ok... First thing is first! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill!!!! Love you guys!!! And welcome to the family Jason!!

Ok, so I will explain my subject. So whenever something hard happens or something goes wrong, Sister Allen and I say, "Not today Satan!!" And keep moving on! It's actually quite helpful!

So in our studies this week we were reading in Ether and I think it is amazing the faith and courage that the Brother of Jared had! One thing that I learned from this weeks reading is just to ask. I think that a lot of times we forget that we can just ask the Lord for things and He will give it to us. Just like in 3 Nephi 18:20 it reads, "20 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you." I have a strong testimony of that! All we need to do is act and ask and it will be given to us!

This week we were able to do a lot of looking and we hope it leads to some finding soon! Of course it is all in the Lord's timing and this is His work. The night before we go out and work, we try and pray and ask God of where we should go or who to see the next day. We prayed and a few streets came to mind so the next day we went out and started tracting them! It was really amazing to see how God puts people into our path and lines everything up perfectly. While we were walking (also another blessing, it was warm enough to go tracting) we saw these 2 men outside working on their car and went up and started talking to them. Turns out, this man's wife had been taking the lessons before and almost go baptized AND we were just talking about her the day before because we found her in the Area Book when we were moving records from paper to the phone! We were talking with him for a little and his member daughter ended up pulling up while we were talking with him AND the former investigator came out! God's timing is so cool! We were not able to teach them but I know that that happened for a reason and the only reason that happened was through listening to the spirit!

Another miracle that happened this weekend was because of the spirit again! I am so glad we do not have to do this work alone! We were trying to figure out if we should go try and contact an investigator we had not seen in awhile due to illness and family problems and the spirit said yes. We went over there and had a great visit with them and they came to church! Heavenly Father is so good! And we were able to get a new investigator out of that because they brought their granddaughter who we actually had been able to teach before at our recent converts house!

Also, I am excited because I wanted to work on the Christlike attributes in chapter 6 of Preach my Gospel and I figured it out that I can work one per transfer for the rest of my mission! So I am super excited about that! The one I am working on right now is diligence! I will keep you updated on how that goes!

Thank you all for the love and support that you give me! I know that this church is true and that this is God's church on the earth today!! The Book of Mormon is the word of God! I am so grateful for the time that I have to be a missionary and how my testimony has grown so much in these past short 6 months! I love you all and have a great, safe week!

We are so blessed!

Hello Y'all!

I hope you have had a great week!! Mine has been so good!

One thing that I just love about Salmon, are the members. They support us and help us to find people to teach all of the time! I am truly blessed to be serving in such a choice place! For the baptism this weekend, the members were amazing and helped us out so much! When our investigator got baptized, her member friends were so cute and sang "When I Am Baptized". The Spirit was so strong! I cannot wait for her to be confirmed on the 11th!

This week, for a little parting activity for Sister Hulme, we were able to help bottle feed some calves! It was so much fun and it made me want a baby cow of my own even more! I'll send some pictures!

We had some amazing miracles this week with some former investigators!! We dropped an investigator a little while ago because he was just needing some time to think. We went back to go see him to set up an appointment for this Friday and he told us something really cool! When we dropped him he was thinking that he is done learning more about the church but then a while later when we asked him if we could come back, he was confused when he said yes. He told us that it must be that he is still interested in learning more and now we are teaching him again! So amazing!

Something else amazing that happened was with a family that I love so much! Ever since I have known of, missionaries have never been able to teach the whole family all together due to busy schedules and things like that and on Sunday we were able to! It was amazing! The spirit was so strong! Such an amazing family! Also, our ward mission leader was there with us and he is so amazing! Love the members!

Another miracle we were able to see was with a former investigator's mom. When we have talked with her before she said that she was not interested but a couple of days ago, we felt like we should go see her again so we did. When we have knocked on her door before she either would not answer or she would say that she was too busy but when we went the other night she invited us right in!! It was so cool! We were able to teach her a little and she said she would read the Book of Mormon! It was an amazing week!

I just wanted to end with a scripture that I loved from today's reading in Mormon.

22 For the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled.

No matter what, this is Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's work. It will keep going no matter how hard Satan tries and everything will be fulfilled! We know who will win the fight! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary to help in this work! Love you all!

Love,
Sister Lacey
