Hey y'all!

That hair!

Hey y'all!!

Well the weeks keep on getting faster and faster and it's scaring the heck out of me haha!! I am sorry that last week I was so bad about emailing but if y'all were curious, I hit 11 months last week! Ahh so weird! I am so grateful that I get more time to continue to serve the Lord!

So I have some funny stories and miracles to tell y'all! So last Sunday we went and contacted this 21 year old guy and we taught him the first lesson. While we were there I realized that we were going to need to pass him off the the Ysa missionaries, so on Tuesday, that's what we did. We taught with Elder LΓΌtz and Torrance and it was a good lesson but there were just some awkward moments.... So we were having a lesson outside and it starts to rain in the middle of the lesson haha and then the really awkward part happened haha. So we finished up and the guy we were teaching said, "so you guys are not coming back?" (talking about my comp and I) and I told him no because the Ysa elder were going to come back. He then said, "well what if I say I'm married?" and I responded and said, "well are you married?" He said, "no.... Will you marry me?".......he said that to me.....
All I said was, "no, sorry I'm a missionary" haha it was great πŸ˜‚ the elders and my comp then had to make fun of my by saying, "well you could have at least let him down easy and said maybe!!" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ ahh that was a crazy lesson! The elders are going to continue to teach him so I hope he accepts the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

My goodness, I feel like I have been through so much learning experiences!! Satan works so so so hard on us as children of God and when we are in the moment of it, it is so hard to recognize that it's Satan. I have been learning more and more these past few weeks of how the Spirit speaks to me and its pretty amazing! I feel like there are nights when I am just pleading with my Father in Heaven for help and I continue on as a missionary and something happens like a day or 2 later and EVERYTHING fits together and makes sense and I'm all like, "ohhhhh, that's why that happened!" and God is probably just looking at me and laughing a little and is thinking, "now your getting it Sister Lacey" haha! It's been pretty amazing!

I love how when you ask God for help, and you show Him that you are willing but your flesh is weak, He's always going to help us! I'll give an example! So my trainer, Adalyn Gaston can testify of this but at the beginning of my mission I felt so dumb and inadequate because I felt like I didn't know the scriptures at all. From then I have tried hard and prayed and fasted for help so I can learn the scriptures better!! I know I have a LONG way to go to be a scriptorian but I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father has helped me to the point I am at right now. I feel like I can better use the scriptures when I teach others and I know it's from the Spirit! The Spirit tells me of scriptures and it's great being able to share it with the person we are teaching! I love Doctrine and Covenants 11:21

21 Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men.

That is a TRUE promise from God!

I am so grateful to be serving in this mission as well! I have so much love for my mission president and wife! I was able to have an interview with him this past week and man he is so loving! I am so grateful that I can go to him about anything and he will be there to love and support me and not judge me! He is truly a Christlike man!

Sister Hurst and I were able to witness a HUGE MIRACLE last night!! So I know I don't use names on here but we were teaching this amazing guy and he dropped us about a month ago. Well we're able to see him at this community BBQ and it was really good! We'll we were online proslyting and the Spirit told me to send him the "Because of Him" video and from that we started messaging. Well he then invited us over to his house and guess what??? He's letting us teach him again!!!! I thought I was gonna die! I love this guy so much! He's like my uncle! I just want him to receive the blessings of the Restored gospel so bad! It's so funny too because people don't realize that they are searching for the truth. It's just our job to show them that they are!

Being a missionary definently has its ups and downs but I wouldn't trade that for anything! God is so good and He loves us all so much! Another missionary shard this scripture with me this week and I love it so I will share it with yall! I hope all have a great week! Share the good word of God! I love you all!!

1 John 4:6
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

"Take Time to be Holy"

Hello y'all!!!

How are y'all doing!? I hope that everyone had an amazing week! Ours was so good!! Miracle week! God is so good! This week could not have happened without Him and His love and grace!

So Monday night I was praying and I felt like I needed to fast for our area and then I woke up the next morning and completely spaced that and I ate breakfast haha! But that was actually a tender mercy! I'll explain, so Tusday evening comes around and Sister Hurst and I were talking and we realized that we needed to fast, so we did the next day. And when we did that, it seemed like the flood gates of heaven were opened to us and we were just witnessing miracle upon miracle! And from that, sister Hurst's and I grew together in our companionship in unity and that would not have happened if I just fasted by myself.

So some of the miracles that we were able to witness!!

So since I have been here in Rigby, it has been very, VERY hard to find new people to teach and in one day we almost found the same amount of people to teach as we have found in 3 months!! Man at the end of that day I was getting ready to cry and was shaking a little bit because of how excited I was haha!

So one of the people we have begun to teach basically fell from heaven haha! We were teaching his step dad a couple months ago but since then his step son and son has moved back in with him. We decided to see his step dad and then ended up meeting him instead! He has just moved here to Rigby like a week and a half ago! We taught him about the Book of Mormon on the door step and asked him to read it and he said yes! Miracle!

The next one was a lady that the missionaries have known for awhile and we were going over there to finally ask her if she wants to take the lessons but... She brought up the gospel! She said how when she has gone to the LDS church before how moved she was by the messages and also how inspired she was when she's listened to General Conference! She asked why we needed the Book of Mormon and then we were able to teach her about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The next day, we were teaching this amazing little boy about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then Sister Hurst invited him to be baptized and he said yes!! She did so well and we are so excited for him!!

The following day we went on exchanges and I was with Sister Exeter! She is one amazing missionary! She is so bold and so loving! She hasn't even been out for 6 months too! I love going on exchanges because I get to learn so much from other sisters and get new friends!

Sunday was also a miracle day! Sister Hurst and I were in our 2nd sacrament meeting and then I see a former investigator walk in with a friend! After sacrament and church she came up and found us and talked with us for awhile. She told us that she has missed coming to church and how it helped her be a better person. She opened up to us about how she was feeling and the spirit while we were talking with her was indescribable. I know that her loved ones who have passed on were there with us! We are now able to teach her and help her reach the goals that she has for herself!

To end such an amazing week, we were able to teach this family about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invite them to go to the temple and do baptisms for those who have passed on. The spirit was so strong during that lesson and I am so grateful I am able to know this family! They are my family here in Rigby!

Man missionary work is the best! I am so glad and grateful to be a servent of the Lord! So to explain the title of my email, this week I have been listening to that song by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and it helps me to be in tune with the spirit! I would like you all to listen to it and take time to be holy!! I love you all and hope you have an amazing week! Thank you for all the love and support! God is real and Jesus is the Christ!

Love,
Sister Lacey

Transfer Week!

Hello Y'all!!!

I hope that you had a wonderful week!! Ours was a different one but it was pretty fantastic!! So last Monday we had to say bye to some of our missionary friends but that's how missions go right?
So last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we were in a trio with Sister Mena and it was a lot of fun!

Last Tuesday was pretty amazing! We were able to teach 3 lessons that day and man I love being a missionary. We first taught a young man about the Plan of Salvation and it is insane how much children know and how quickly they learn!! We were then able to teach this little girl and we have not been able to teach her for like a month and she basically remembered everything we taught the time before! It made my heart happy! That night we were able to teach another man and he is doing amazing! I wish I could help him learn everything that he wants to know all at once but that's not how things work haha! It teaches me patience though!

So I actually wanted to share a pretty cool experience I had last week. So I cannot remember if I told y'all or not but last week I was going though a hard time and it was amazing how much a blessing all of y'all are! So my momma sent me this talk called "Until Seventy Times Seven"  and shared with me this quote, " “Success,” it has been said, “isn’t the absence of failure, but going from failure to failure without any loss of enthusiasm". And then Adalyn Gaston shared with me, "Your mission is not about you being a perfect missionary AT ALL". And then my sister Morgan sent me this, " Sweetie I have no doubt that the Lord is with you. He is on your right and your left, his spirt is in your heart and I know that heavenly angels that you once New your ancestors and your posterity are there to bear you up!". It was amazing because last Monday night I was praying and I told God how I just wanted to be submissive, meek, and humble and then everything came together! I was going though these things because I asked God to help me be submissive, meek and humble and that's why I am going though the hard time and that's why I was feeling like I was "failing". But with all of those things it just made sense! So thank you all for being inspired and helping me!!

On the 4th of July we were able to help out at a 5K run and it was a lot of fun! Then we were able to be in the Menan Parade! It was a lot of fun! It was the closest time I have felt famous haha! The rest of the day was just weird but it was good! We were not able to see the fireworks though but one of our bishops gave us our own little personal firework show the other night with his family and that was awesome!

I got my new companion on Thursday and that was crazy! She is amazing! Her name is Sister Hurst and she is from Logan, Utah. She is doing amazing and I am excited to serve with her this transfer!

Yesterday we had an amazing Sunday! We were able to speak in one of our wards and I had to take an half an hour... Hey I did it! I am not sure if it made sense but I did it haha! We had 2 amazing lessons that night as well! I love being able to feel of God's love for people when I am teaching them!

I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week! I know that this church is true and that the Savior is the head of this church! I would like to challenge you all this week to talk with your missionaries serving in your ward and ask them how you can help them! I love you all!

Love,
Sister Lacey

I AM STAYING IN RIGBY!!!!

Hello Everyone!

So transfers are happening this week and sadly Sister Yun is being transferred down to IF and I will be getting a new companion from the MTC! Sister Yun is whitewashing with an amazing sister so I am so excited for her! Change is hard and sad but it is necessary. I am happy that the mission helps us get more use to changes haha!

So this week was a different one! I think I told some of you guys this but last Monday one of the people we are teaching dropped us and it was very sad. I know that everything happens for a reason though and I can only hope and pray for him that someday he will want to except the gospel of Jesus Christ.

On Tuesday we were invited to one of our elders area and went and talked to the young women in their ward. We talked about our experiences in choosing to come on a mission and things we had to do to prepare. I always love doing that because it helps me remember God's hand in my life in preparing me to come on a mission. I am so grateful that serving a mission is something that God wanted me to do!

So on Wednesday morning I was doing my personal study and then I just hear Sister Yun say, "President Nelson wants us to call him". I was like what?? Why does President want us to call him. So we did and then he called me to be a trainer and I was not expecting that haha! First of all, they usually do trainer calls on Thursday night and so it caught me off guard but I am honored to receive this calling. I hope that I can be the kind of missionary that me new companion needs me to be!

So the next morning we had a meeting for all the missionaries who will be trainers this transfer and it was amazing! It helped me realized all of the things that I need to work on! Then the next day I had another meeting and that one great as well!! So it was a really good week just a lot of meetings haha!

On Saturday we were able to attend a baptism of some elders in our district and the spirit was so strong! I realized at that baptism that Satan has been working on me a little bit and making me feel like I am not a good missionary. I was praying a lot for help and I was feeling like I was not getting an answer but I realized that it was coming slowly. I got an answer at church and in personal study, through the love of my companion and in a lesson that we taught about the Prophet Joseph Smith. God hears and answers every single one of our prayers! I am so grateful for Him and His love he has for us! I hope that all of you have a wonderful week! I love you all!

Love,
Sister Lacey
