I hit my 6 month mark!! 🤗

She's a Spanish Missionary now... Actually, she forgot her tag

Hello Everyone!!

So first things first... I have no idea how it has already been 6 months!!! I still feel like I am a baby missionary but I think at this point they expect you to already know everything and... that's not the case!

Anyways!! I hope you all had an amazing week! Mine was amazing as usual! One sad thing that happened this week though was transfers. Sister Hulme will be leaving and going to BUY Idaho campus and I will be getting Sister Allan. I am going to miss Sister Hulme but I know she is needed at BYU!

We were able to see some amazing mission miracles this week! One was with a girl who is about my age. A few months back, Sister Gaston and I stopped at the local grocery store for a bathroom break. While we were there we were able to talk to this girl for the first time. She was super friendly with us and we got her number. Well life happened and meeting with her was working out until some members that know her got involved (members are the best). They talked with her about the gospel and set up a church tour with us this past Saturday and it went great! She does not have a very big religious background and really wants to know the truth. What was even more amazing was the spiritual prompting I received while I was in the lesson with her. I just had the feeling come over me that said, "She is why you are hear". I haven't had a feeling like that in a first lesson before and it was amazing! God's hand directs all of our lives weather we know it or not.

Another miracle was with a lady who is 81 years old and does not know very much about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but she is willing to learn more. We told her what the Book of Mormon was and she was so surprised. She did not realize that it is an ancient record just like the Bible, she told us that she was going to pray and ask God if she should read it. We hope and pray that she will listen enough to know that she should!

So this week I was able to go down to Idaho Falls and recieve a training on the new technology we have. What makes it really cool is that the men who actually came up with the software that helps us in missionary work was there to teachbus and get feedback from us! I felt the spirit so strong and what was also really cool was that my testimony grew during that meeting so much. I just know that this is Jesus Christ's church on the Earth today! I loved being able to learn how the technology is helping not only us but others and it was great to learn from the men who helped make it. What was also amazing is that Sister Hulme and Bishop did an amazing job in finding more people to teach when we were gone. They were able to find 2 new investigators and some potential investigators!

So I have one funny story but... I'm not sure if it's appropriate for my blog haha so you can take it out! So we were teaching one if our investigators and we were talking about the plan of salvation. We got to the part about resurrection and how we will all receive perfect bodies. Our investigator then made the joke, "oh so we will get double D's then?" Oh man! It was too funny!

Anyways, I hope you all will have an amazing week! I know that this is Christ Church on the Earth today and it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith! We are all here to help God in his work!

39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you all had a fantastic week! Ours was so good! I love being a missionary so much! And yes... I say a cow being born this week! It was so crazy. The stake president and his son even had to pull it out because it was a big one haha I will see if I can send the video!

So this week I was having a few difficult days. My head keeps getting to me and just start being to hard on myself and thinking I'm not doing good enough to see success. Luckily I have an amazing companion and she helps me when I am down. It's nice just being able to talk to someone and them helping you through the hard times. Another big factor is prayer. Heavenly Father has helped me so much! I was having a thought to get a priesthood blessing but I was pushing it away because I am stubborn. Anyways, I got a blessing from Elder Allebes (my district leader) and it was actually really cool experience! This past week we have had the opportunity to testify of the Priesthood and teach others about it so my testimony of it has grown! When I got my blessing I realized that we literally have God's power and authority on the Earth and we can receive council from Him. I know that that blessing was from Him and that I shouldn't be hard on myself and as long as we do the best that we can then that is all we can do! So long story short, the Priesthood is such an amazing gift!

So we have an investigator and she came to church! We were hoping that her and her husband would come but he was sick. What was really cool, when we have come before to their house. Her husband was pretty cold to us but this last time he really started to soften up! When we had to leave he said, "but it was just starting to get good!" I am excited to see him soften more and more and hopefully come to church with his wife! When his wife was at church she even said at church, "Yeah, I was thinking about just going to my church but I know that God wanted me here today". That was a miracle that she said that!

Another miracle we saw was with our investigator who is 13 years old. So she has been on date to be baptized and when we went over to her house to teach her a lesson she wanted to move her date to be baptized closer! I have never had that happen before and it was a tender mercy from the Lord to be a witness of that!

So our district have been trying to reach certain goals of how many people we talk to and how many Books of Mormon we pass out in a week and it has been awesome seeing how that helps our door approaches! We have to testify to someone in order for it to count so it has helped us to start testifying right away when we meet someone. On Saturday night Sister Hulme and I went tracking and we were able to talk to 20 new people, pass out 4 Books of Mormon and got 2 new investigators! It was an amazing night! We got some return appointments as well and hope they turn into new investigators!

So one of our investigators who was on date moved to Nebraska. It was awesome to have technology though because with our last lesson with her we were able to skype in her new missionaries in Nebraska. Hopefully that helped her have a smoother transition to her new home.

Missionary work is the best and I am so grateful that I get to serve here in Idaho! I know that Jesus Christ church has been restored again on the earth and that this is His church! I love you all so much! Have a great week!

I met Elder Dube... Again!! Inbox x

Temple Trip!

A favorite member - who is moving :-(
Hello everyone!!

I hope you have had a great week! Ours was so good! So we had our mission tour this week and Elder Dube came! It was amazing to receive training from him! His knowledge of the scriptures was just amazing and because of his example I want to be more diligent in my scripture studies and really study and know the scriptures so I can help those I teach. I love how when we would ask a question he would answer us with a scripture. I had a pretty cool experience this week with scripture study. So people have said before how they just hunger for scripture study and I wanted that too. Then I remembered in Preach my Gospel it says that you can pray for a desire, so I prayed to be hungry for the scriptures and it happened! One night I was getting ready to go to bed and I just really couldn't wait for the morning to study the Book of Mormon! It was awesome!

So I had the opportunity to go to a training with him on Wednesday and Thursday so we stayed the night at President' s house with Elder Dube (salmon is too far to go there and back #outcasts). We were able to talk with him and I asked him if he remembered coming to our home stake like a year and a half ago and he said yes. I then asked him if he remembered when a guy in our stake stood up and was acting weird and he just went, "OHHH!!" And started laughing! It was the best! We started talking about it more and we might have been mixing things up but it was so funny! Anyways thought you guys would enjoy that!

One thing that I loved from Elder Dube's teaching was to use the scriptures more and read a chapter from the Book of Mormon and then connect it to the Bible. When we got home Thursday night we tried that in one of our lessons and it was probably one of the best lessons Sister Hulme and I have taught together! The Spirit was defiantly guiding the lesson and afterwards the member there with us very happy how everything turned out!

The tough thing that happened this week was that a few of our progressing investigators dropped us this week. That was pretty tough for us. I just kept having thoughts of you are not good enough or you didn't do enough and it was just hard. It was just one of those mornings where you just need to talk to your Heavenly Father and pray for comfort. Days like that are hard but it did help me and motivate me to work harder and that is a plus!

We had a few amazing miracles with finding new investigators this week. One of our recent converts has a little sister who has never sat down and participated in a lesson but this week she finally did! If you met her you would know how much of a miracle that was. She's a little fireball!

The second miracle was when we were teaching one of our investigators. Her husband has been pretty cold to us and when we first came over he was. He wouldn't sit in the room with us but he sat close enough to hear us. Towards the end of the lesson he finally jumped in the lesson and he started to soften and open up and we have a follow up appointment with them!

The last was we knocked on this random door and at first he did not seem to interested but we were persistent and he told us we could come back the next day. We did and during the lesson he said that two weeks ago he started praying on what he should do because he is going through a hard time and then a few months ago he checked the Book of Mormon out of library and started read it. How cool is that! We are excited to see him progress!

Well I love you all so much! I hope you guys have a great week! Always remember to share the gospel! I know that the Book of Mormon is true!

Baby Cows are popping out now!

Hello everyone!

I hope you guys were able to have a great week! Sister Hulme and I were able to be witnesses of some amazing miracles!!

So there are baby cows everywhere here and it is so awesome! They are the cutest little things! Mom and dad.... I want one ;)

Before we get into the good stuff, I want to share a few funny things that happened this week. So this winter has been very mild (so I have been told) compared to others. Because of that, it rains in the day but it freezes at night... leading to ice... you can probably guess where this is going. We fell... hard ...at almost the same time! It was great. I'll send a video of me showing you guys my bruise!

The next one was kinda funny and scary... so the past couple of days it has been raining but not freezing so that leads to mud. Now everyone has told me how to drive in rain and snow but no one has told me how to drive in mud and I think it's one of the scariest! You drive and your car just starts going sideways and you can't do anything really! And on top of that... walking in it is not very fun either! That being said, I love the rain! I think I would rather have the rain than the snow so I am blessed!

On to the good stuff, the miracles!

The first one happened last p-day. We have been asking one of our recent converts since he's been baptized of who he thinks needs to hear the message we share. He had been telling us about his friend for awhile but said that she wasn't ready yet for the missionaries. Another member called us and said her friend wanted the missionary lessons and it ended up being the same person! We were able to teach her that day and I guess the member who called us read 1 Nephi 6 (tree of life) and just felt strongly she needed to share that with the friend we were able to teach and she ended up studying the scriptures into the night. During the lesson she said that the Book of Mormon is the next step from the Bible and she committed to being baptized! I am so excited for her and to be able to be apart of her journey in coming closer to Jesus Christ.

The next one was later in the week when we went on splits and our appointments fell through and we could not find anyone that we had planned. Earlier that day we knocked on this random door and he was not interested but he told us to go see his friend. When we had no where to go we tried to go find this friend. We knocked on the door and this lady answered and come to find out, Sister Gaston and I a few months back had talked to her in the park but did not get any contact info because she was in a hurry. Anyways she said we were able to come back before she left on a trip for a month but we found her after months!

So Sister Gaston and I were teaching this man for awhile but had to drop him before Sister Hulme got here. His wife died after a long fight with cancer and we had the opportunity to go to her funeral. It was a small funeral and it was heartbreaking to see our former investigators son so upset about losing his mom. Afterwards our former investigators son said that we are invited over anytime to his house and we will be seeing our former invesitigator this week. I really hope they let the Saviors Atoning sacrifice heal thier hearts from the lost of their loved one.

Another miracle we saw was with another former investigator. We were able to see her and she wants to be baptized and wants to learn more! We were able to put her back on date. I hope she really let's us come over and teach her all the lessons!

I love you all so much! I hope you guys have an amazing week! I know that God lives and that loves all of us infinately!

Love,
Sister Lacey
